Like you I'm guessing, I receive updates from various ministry partners that are understandably eager to share their good news. And often as not there are encouraging numbers to report, about people making decisions for Christ, about healings, about baptisms. And it's so good, and so important that we bear testimony to the big things God is doing. I've sent out some reports like that myself, in fact.
And also.
Sometimes ministry is just the day to day. Sometimes serving God has no big numbers attached to it. Sometimes all that we can report is that the situation is stable, we're hanging in there, or even, that things haven't got worse.
Our news from Auberge de Vieillards is more like that. Just tenaciously, resiliently caring for precious persons who would otherwise be forgotten. And personally, I think that is just as big and just as important. God's eye is on the sparrow, after all.
In that category then, I share with you some news; something personal, and something general.
Something Personal
Our prayers are with Se Lumide in the loss of her brother, Dr. Eugene, who died suddenly at age 52 from a heart attack last month. Dr. Eugene managed a hospital in Plaine du Nord outside of Cape Haitien.
Something General
Is is an article of Current News about Haiti from the Associated Press, a fairly reliable source. It is meant to keep us up to date on some of the activities of those committing violent acts, and how the authorities are coping.
Thank you for your ongoing prayers, all the time, those of you who keep us on your minds and hearts.
